Kosta Papoulias: Told that P.K. Subban was offered a five-year, $36 million contract but turned it down: $6 million, $7 million, $7 million, $8 million and $8 million. Subban is looking for a longer deal and more money. Subban is not looking for less than $8 million.

The Montreal ‪Canadiens‬ have named PK Subban, Andrei Markov, Tomas Plekanec & Max Pacioretty as assistants for the 2014-15 season. Carey Price will essentially fulfill the role of captain although goalies are no longer allowed to wear letters. Plekanec & Markov will wear their A for all 82 games while Subban will wear an A at home and Max Pacioretty will wear one on the road. They will then switch after 41 games.
