Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch: The Blue Jackets have held exploratory talks with Sergei Bobrovsky and Brandon Dubinsky. The Blue Jackets would like to extend them this summer and prevent them from getting to free agency next year. GM Jarmo Kekalainen’s main priority is to sign RFA Ryan Johansen. Assistant GM Bill Zito has been handling talks while Kekalainen has been tending to other business. For their AHL team in Springfield, they will go with the goaltending duo of Anton Forsberg and Oscar Dansk.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed forward Jerry D’Amigo to a one-year, two-way (NHL/AHL) contract, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. As is club policy, terms were not disclosed.

Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch: A couple weeks ago the Blue Jackets and RFA Ryan Johansen were making some progress on a bridge deal, but were about $3 million apart. Two weeks later, not much progress has been made. When asked on the weekend if they were still far apart on a deal, one of the parties said in a text, “hectares.” Training camp starts on September 18th. Johansen is planning to return to Columbus later this month. If the Blue Jackets sign Johansen to a two- or three-year deal, he’ll still be a RFA, but will have arbitration rights. A four-year deal would put him into unrestricted free agency.

Aaron Portzline: Boone Jenner would likely move back to center if Johansen isn’t signed. Prospect Alexander Wennberg’s chances of making the Blue Jackets would also increase.
